Current United States Patent Office Fees
are not readily downloaded as unavailable
in PDF but are readily viewable, in HTML,
on their site: uspto.gov.
Most pertinent US Patent Office fees for most applicants
are given on the 'Services' page of this site though one
major simplification is made: the 'filing fee' for a full
National US application is given as $462 which is correct
for the total of the Filing, Search & Examination Fees on
the current US Patent Office Schedule for electronic filing
reflecting a $83 reduction in the Filing Fee for filing full
US National Applications electronically as further
required in requesting Accelerated Examination: i.e.
with a Petition to Make Special under MPEP 708.02;
which most pertinently requires a full, global, patentability
search represented in the 'Pre-examination Statement'
that is also required of this petition.
Accelerated Examination also requires a $130 petition fee
but with the $83 reduction in the filing fee results in $592
total in filing fees while the total for paper filing without
a petition is currently $545.
All fees given here are for 'Small Entities' which means
all individual inventors and companies of 250 or less
employees. 'Large Entities' generally pay double the
fees for 'Small Entities'.
Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Application Filing Fees
total over $3,800 including Chapter I (filing and search) &
Chapter II (examination) while Provisional Applications were
expressly created for the purpose of providing reciprocal
foreign filing rights: unless a Provisional or PCT application
is filed PRIOR public disclosure, including any offer of sale,
the rights to file in foreign countries evaporates immediately
while the inventor still has a year to file in the US for patent;
assuming, of course, US citizenship or residency.
